Security at NairaFlow

A look at the safeguards built into every account.

NairaFlow combines several layers of protection so that only you can move your money. None of these measures are optional — they apply to every account.

Transaction PIN

Every money-moving action — sending money, paying bills, withdrawing — requires your personal transaction PIN. The PIN is never shown or sent in messages, and repeated wrong attempts lock the action to stop guessing.

One-time passcodes (OTP)

Sign-in from a new device, password or PIN resets and other sensitive changes are confirmed with a one-time passcode sent to your registered email or phone. The code expires quickly and can only be used once.

Identity verification (KYC)

Accounts go through identity verification before higher limits are unlocked. NairaFlow checks the information and documents provided against your BVN/NIN and photo identification as part of "Know Your Customer" checks required for financial platforms in Nigeria.

Trusted devices

NairaFlow keeps track of the devices you normally use. Signing in from an unrecognised device triggers extra verification, and you can review and remove devices from your account at any time from the app's security settings.

Fraud and risk checks

Transactions and account activity are continuously screened for signs of fraud — such as unusual amounts, locations or patterns. Activity that looks risky can be paused for review, and our team can restrict an account to protect a customer while a check is carried out.

If something feels wrong

If you notice anything suspicious on your account, use the in-app support option as soon as possible — see Contact and Complaints for how to reach us.
